Richard Castro
BDS (Glasgow 1971)
A native of Glasgow, of
Scottish Mum and Spanish Dad, Richard worked for only eight
months in general practice in East Kilbride before heading for
his beloved Highlands where he enjoys hill walking and climbing,
sailing and boating in general in his spare time.
He has lived in Inverness for 35 years with his family, been
a partner in three practices and, after a spell working in Nairn,
set up in practice with Hazel Cliff at Kingsmills in 1991. Formerly
a single dentist practice it has developed into a successful
four dentist and two hygienist practice with extended hours
and open six days. A favourite hobby is photography and Richard
regularly exhibits his photos in the reception/lounge area.

Hazel
Cliff BDS (Dundee 1981)
Born in Edinburgh, brought up
in Dundee and attended Dundee University - Hazel is an out and
out East-Coaster. Furthermore she first worked in general practice
in Arbroath, trained in orthodontics in Aberdeen then practiced
in Nairn before setting up Kingsmills Dental Practice with her
husband, Richard Castro, in Inverness.
She has pursued her interest in orthodontics for both children
and adults with a special emphasis on interceptive treatment
to minimise future problems. Hazel has three children and, time
permitting, she enjoys historical and contemporary dance, skiing
and the outdoors generally, which includes helping with the
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme in Inverness’ Crown Group.

Anne Jackson BDS
(Edinburgh 1980)
After graduation Anne spent a few
years in a training practice near London before heading for the
North West Territories of Canada. For five years she was a “flying
dentist” serving remote Indian and Inuit settlements by
landing on nearby lakes in a floatplane. On her return to Scotland
she met her husband and they settled in Inverness.
“With a young family I looked for a part time job in a practice
where prevention was a priority and I started at Kingsmills. Now,
14 years later, the practice has expanded allowing me to carry
out family dentistry in a friendly, team environment. The Highlands
has proved a wonderful home and, with the children now at secondary
school, I can sometimes find time to pursue my interests of walking,
cycling and curling”. |

Elaine Goldsmith
(Dundee 1985)
Brought up and educated in Edinburgh, Elaine returned there to
set up in dental practice after graduating from Dundee University.
After 15 years of running two practices she decided to explore
the world outside of dentistry. Her love of the outdoors prompted
her to change direction and she qualified as an International
Mountain Leader, guiding walking, trekking and snowshoeing all
over the world. When not exploring a tricky root canal or the
latest ceramic restorations Elaine spends her time walking, climbing,
skiing, biking and sea kayaking.
“I have travelled to a
lot of wonderful places but love my home here in Scotland. Living
in the Highlands, and working at Kingsmills, gives me the best
of both worlds. Working in a modern practice, with a motivated,
experienced team, and the Scottish countryside on my doorstep
for days off - what more could I ask for?”
